As a solo traveler, I stayed at Hamam Hostel for my recent trip to Istanbul. The staff at the hostel was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The location of the hostel is perfect, with easy access to Haliç station and within walking distance of several attractions such as the Egyptian Bazaar, Rustem Pasha Mosque, and Suleymaniye Mosque. The neighborhood itself is charming, with local bakeries, fresh juice stalls, and convenient stores. The facilities were always clean and well-maintained, and I appreciated the hot showers and the availability of a hair dryer. The room I stayed in was cozy, with a comfortable bed and its own key for added privacy. The WiFi was stable and easy to connect, although not suitable for instant streaming or uploading large files. I felt safe and at home at Hamam Hostel and would definitely stay there again if I return to Istanbul.
Totally recommend this hotel.

Great location close to public transportation and popular attractions. Walking distance to the Egyptian spice market and accessible tram lines. Showers and toilets were clean. The hostel has an outside space and a kitchen with a fridge, making it convenient for travelers.
The room was small, similar to Japanese capsule rooms, which may not be suitable for those seeking more space. Some guests complained about cleanliness issues with the bed sheets, such as yellow stains.

The bathroom was a bit rustic and could use some improvement in terms of maintenance.

The value for money at this hotel was excellent, with a mini Hamman room for the price of a bunk. The room was surprisingly clean and cozy, with a unique charm from its conversion from old bathing cabins. The location was perfect, just 200m from Suleyman Mosque and close to metro stations and historical sites. The staff, including the friendly owner and night staff, were helpful and attentive, especially when I had unexpected problems with my train journey.
The only improvement I would suggest is to have a better breakfast option.
